حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ثنا أَبُو غَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ وَمَعَهُ غُلَامَانِ فَوَهَبَ أَحَدَهُمَا لِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ وَقَالَ «لَا تَضْرِبْهُ فَإِنِّي نُهِيتُ عَنْ ضَرْبِ أَهْلِ الصَّلَاةِ وَإِنِّي قَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ يُصَلِّي» وَأَعْطَى أَبَا ذَرٍّ غُلَامًا وَقَالَ «اسْتَوْصِ بِهِ مَعْرُوفًا» فَأَعْتَقَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا فَعَلَ الْغُلَامُ الَّذِي أَعْطَيْتُكَ؟» قَالَ أَمَرْتَنِي أَنْ أَسْتَوْصِيَ بِهِ مَعْرُوفًا فَأَعْتَقْتُهُ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned from Khaybar with two servant boys. He gave one of them to 'Ali b. Abi Talib and said: "Do not strike him, for I have been forbidden from striking the people of prayer, and I have seen him praying." He gave Abu Dharr a servant boy and said: "Treat him with kindness." So Abu Dharr freed him. The Prophet ﷺ said: "What happened to the servant boy I gave you?" He said: You commanded me to treat him kindly, so I freed him.
