حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مِهْرَانَ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ أَبَا غَالِبٍ
عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {هُوَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الْكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ} إِلَى {ابْتِغَاءَ تَأْوِيلِهِ} فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «هُمِ الْخَوَارِجُ» وَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةِ {فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُمْ بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ} فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو أُمَامَةَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «أَنَّهُمِ الْخَوَارِجُ»

✧ Regarding this verse: {He it is Who has sent down to you the Book; in it are verses that are precise—they are the foundation of the Book—and others unspecific.} up to {seeking its interpretation}. He said: Abu Umamah narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said: "They are the Khawarij." And I asked him about this verse: {As for those whose faces turn black—did you disbelieve after your belief? Then taste the punishment for what you used to deny.} He said: Abu Umamah narrated to me from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that "they are the Khawarij."
