حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّازُ ثنا حَوْثَرَةُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِنْقَرِيُّ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي غَالِبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ أَنَّهُ رَأَى رُءُوسَ §الْخَوَارِجِ فَقَالَ
«شَرُّ قَتْلَى تَحْتَ ظِلِّ السَّمَاءِ» قُلْتُ شَيْئًا تَقُولُهُ بِرَأْيِكَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «لَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلَّا مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا حَتَّى بَلَغَ سَبْعًا مَا حَدَّثْتُ بِهِ»

✧ “The worst of those slain under the shade of the sky.” I said: “Is it something you say by your own opinion, or did you hear it from the Messenger of God ﷺ?” He said: “If I had not heard it from the Prophet ﷺ except once, or twice, or three times—until he reached seven—I would not have narrated it.”
