حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيِّ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا مَضْمَضَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَاهُ حُطَّ مَا أَصَابَ بِفِيهِ وَإِذَا غَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ حُطَّ مَا أَصَابَ وَجْهُهُ وَإِذَا غَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ حُطَّ مَا أَصَابَ بِيَدِهِ وَإِذَا غَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ حُطَّ مَا أَصَابَ بِرِجْلَيْهِ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ عِنْدَ ذَلِكَ انْظُرْ مَا تُحَدِّثُ يَا أَبَا أُمَامَةَ صَحِبْنَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَمَا سَمِعْنَاهُ يَقُولُ مَا تَقُولُ فَقَالَ أَبُو أُمَامَةَ «لَوْ لَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ إِلَّا مَرَّةً أَوْ مَرَّتَيْنِ لَمْ أُحَدِّثْ بِهِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “When one of you rinses his mouth, whatever his mouth has incurred is removed; when he washes his face, whatever his face has incurred is removed; when he washes his hands, whatever his hands have incurred is removed; and when he washes his feet, whatever his feet have incurred is removed.” A man then said: “Look at what you are narrating, O Abu Umama. We accompanied the Messenger of God ﷺ and we did not hear him say what you are saying.” Abu Umama said: “Had I not heard it from him except once or twice, I would not have narrated it.”
