حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْقَاهِرِ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ ثنا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمْ يَسْتَيْقِظْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى أَذَاهُ حَرُّ الشَّمْسِ بَيْنَ كَتِفَيْهِ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ مَكَثُوا فَأَقَامَ الصَّلَاةَ فَتَقَدَّمَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى بِهِمْ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى بِهِمْ قَالَ «إِذَا رَقَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَغَلَبَتْهُ عَيْنَاهُ فَلْيَفْعَلْ هَكَذَا فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَتَوَفَّى الْأَنْفُسَ حِينَ مَوْتِهَا وَالَّتِي لَمْ تَمُتْ فِي مَنَامِهَا»

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not wake until the heat of the sun troubled him between his shoulders. When he woke, they stayed. He called the iqamah for prayer, went forward, and led them in prayer. When he had prayed with them, he said: “If one of you sleeps and his eyes overcome him, let him do like this, for Allah takes the souls at the time of their death, and the one that has not died, in its sleep.”
