حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِرْقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْخَبَائِرِيُّ ثنا زَيْدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ زَبْرٍ حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ يَقُولُ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى مَشْيَخَةٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ بِيضٌ لِحَاهُمْ فَقَالَ «يَا مَعَاشِرَ الْأَنْصَارِ حَمِّرُوا وَصَفِّرُوا وَخَالِفُوا أَهْلَ الْكِتَابِ»

✧ I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili say: The Messenger of God ﷺ went out to some elderly men of the Ansar whose beards were white and said, “O assembly of the Ansar, dye your beards red and yellow, and differ from the People of the Book.”
