حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ أنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَحْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ
جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ ؓ فَقَالَ زَرَعَ فُلَانُ زَرْعًا فَأَضْعَفَ أَوْ كَمَا قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وَمَا ذَاكَ؟ رَكْعَتَانِ خَفِيفَتَانِ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا عَلَيْهَا وَلَوْ أَنَّكُمْ تَفْعَلُونَ مَا أُمِرْتُمْ بِهِ لَأَكَلْتُمْ غُيَرَاءَ زَرْعًا وَلَا أَشْقِيَاءَ»

✧ A man from the Ansar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while Abu Bakr and Umar ؓ were with him and said: “So-and-so planted a crop and it multiplied,” or as he said. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “And what is that? Two light rak’ahs are better for you than all of that from this world and what is upon it. If you were to do what you have been commanded, you would eat as vigorous ones, a crop, and not as wretched ones.”
