حَدَّثَنَا بُجَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ لَيْثٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ الْبَاهِلِيَّ يَقُولُ كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ مُضَعَّفًا فَلْيَرْجِعْ» فَجَعَلَ النَّاسُ يَتَرَاجَعُونَ فَتَضَايَقَ الطَّرِيقُ فَوَقَفَ بِرَجُلٍ بَعِيرُهُ فَأُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَلَمَّا أَخْبَرَ عَنْهُ أَبِي أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ وَدَعَا بِلَالًا فَقَالَ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «نَادِ بِهَا إِنَّ الْجَنَّةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لِعَاصٍ»

✧ I heard Abu Umamah al-Bahili say: We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a military campaign. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever is weakened should return.” People began returning, and the road became narrow. A man's camel stopped with him, and he was brought to the Prophet ﷺ. When my father reported about him, he refused to pray over him and called Bilal, who said, “At your service, O Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Announce it: Paradise is not permissible for a disobedient person.”
