حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

شَهِدَتُ خُطْبَةَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَقَالَ قَوْلًا كَثِيرًا حَسَنًا جَمِيلًا ثُمَّ كَانَ فِيمَا قَالَ «مَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابَيْنِ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَلَهُ مِثْلُ الَّذِي لَنَا وَعَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْنَا وَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ وَلَهُ مِثْلُ الَّذِي لَنَا وَعَلَيْهِ مِثْلُ الَّذِي عَلَيْنَا»

✧ I witnessed the Prophet's ﷺ sermon in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage. He said many good and beautiful things, and among what he said was: "Whoever from the People of the two Books (Jews and Christians) becomes Muslim, he will have his reward twice, and he will have the same as what is due to us, and upon him the same as what is due from us. And whoever from the polytheists becomes Muslim, he will have his reward, and he will have the same as what is due to us, and upon him the same as what is due from us."
