حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ثنا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ثنا عُفَيْرُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سُلَيْمَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «الشَّامُ صَفْوَةُ اللهِ مِنْ بِلَادِهِ يَجْتَبِي صَفْوَتَهُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ فَمَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الشَّامِ إِلَى غَيْرِهَا فَبِسَخْطَةٍ وَمَنْ دَخَلَهَا فَبِرَحْمَةٍ»

✧ On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: “Syria (al-Shām) is the choice of God from His lands; He chooses His choice from His servants. Whoever leaves Syria for other than it, it is with displeasure, and whoever enters it, it is with mercy.”
