✧ Abu Qilabah said to me: "He is alive, so meet him and hear the hadith from him." Ayyub said: "I met al-Amiri, and he narrated to me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent out cavalry, and they raided the camels of a neighbor of ours and took them away. So he set out regarding that—either my father said, or my paternal uncle, or he said a close relative of his—and came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about it. He said: I came to him while he was eating, and he said: 'Come to lunch.' I said: 'I am fasting.' He said: 'Come, and I will tell you about that. Indeed, Allah, may He be exalted, has relieved the traveler of fasting and half of the prayer, and likewise the pregnant woman'—or he said 'the nursing woman.' And he ordered the camels, and they were returned. And whenever he narrated this hadith, he would lament and say: 'Would that I had eaten from the food of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.'"
