حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ النَّخَعِيُّ ثنا الْعَلَاءُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَانْقَطَعَ شِسْعُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ» فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ هَذَا الشِّسْعُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّهَا مُصِيبَةٌ»

✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the strap of the Prophet's ﷺ sandal broke. He said: "Indeed we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return." A man said to him: "This is just a sandal strap." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is a calamity."
