حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ ثنا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلَّامٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلَّامٍ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا أُمَامَةَ يَقُولُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ اقْرَءُوا الْقُرْآنَ فَإِنَّهُ يَأْتِي يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ يُدَافِعُ لِأَصْحَابِهِ اقْرَءُوا الزَّهْرَاوَيْنِ الْبَقَرَةَ وَسُورَةَ آلِ عِمْرَانَ فَإِنَّهُمَا يَأْتِيَانِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كَأَنَّهُمَا غَمَامَتَانِ أَوْ غَيَايَتَانِ أَوْ كَأَنَّهُمَا فِرْقَانِ مِنْ طَيْرٍ صَوَافٍّ يُحَاجَّانِ عَنْ أَصْحَابِهِمَا اقْرَءُوا سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ فَإِنَّ أَخْذَهَا بَرَكَةٌ وَتَرْكَهَا حَسْرَةٌ وَلَا تَسْتَطِيعُهَا الْبَطَلَةُ

✧ I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Recite the Quran, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection to defend its companions. Recite the two bright ones, al-Baqarah and Surah Al Imran, for they will come on the Day of Resurrection as if they were two clouds, or two canopies, or two flocks of birds in ranks, arguing on behalf of their companions. Recite Surah al-Baqarah, for taking it is a blessing, leaving it is a regret, and the sorcerers cannot handle it.”
