حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يُونُسَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ أَرْطَاةَ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ قَالَ

تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهُ كَفَنٌ فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «انْظُرُوا إِلَى دَاخِلَةِ إِزَارِهِ» فَأُصِيبَ دِينَارٌ أَوْ دِينَارَانِ فَقَالَ «كَيَّتَانِ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبَكُمْ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِلَيَّ قَضَاؤُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ

✧ A man died during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and no shroud was found for him. They came to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: "Look inside his waist wrapper." A dinar or two dinars were found. He said: "Two cauterizations. Pray over your companion." A man said: "I will pay it, O Messenger of Allah." So he prayed over him.
