al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 748

✧ On the Day of Judgement, Allah has prepared punishment and anger for those who steal the wealth of a Muslim, or falsely swear on them with a false oath.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ الرَّقِّيُّ ثنا أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ثنا عَبَّادُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَبِي مَاتَ وَلَمْ يَحُجَّ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ؟ قَالَ «أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ كَانَ عَلَى أَبِيكَ دَيْنٌ فَقَضَيْتَهُ أَقُضِيَ عَنْهُ؟» قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ «فَحُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: "My father died without performing Hajj. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "What if your father had a debt and you paid it off, would that settle it for him?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then perform Hajj on behalf of your father."
