حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مَتُّوَيْهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حِمْيَرٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَمِينٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَطْفَالُ الْمُشْرِكِينَ نُصِيبُهُمْ فِي الْغَارَةِ بِاللَّيْلِ قَالَ «لَا تَعُودُوا ذَلِكَ وَلَا حَرَجَ فَإِنَّ أَوْلَادَهُمْ مِنْهُمْ» وَنَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ

✧ He said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of the polytheists—we strike them in a night raid.” He said, “Do not do that again, but there is no blame, for their children are from them.” And he forbade killing women and children.
