حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَرْبٍ الْمَوْصِلِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ قَالَ

مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأَنَا بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَأَهْدَيْتُ لَهُ حِمَارَ وَحْشٍ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا رَأَى فِي وَجْهِي الْكَرَاهِيَةَ قَالَ «إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by me while I was at al-Abwa, so I gifted him a wild donkey, and he returned it to me. When he saw dislike in my face, he said, “It is not that we reject it for you, but we are in the state of ihram.”
