حَدَّثَنَا مُطَّلِبُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ الْأَزْدِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا اللَّيْثُ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ خَالِدِ بْنِ مُسَافِرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ الصَّعْبِ بْنِ جَثَّامَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ اللَّيْثِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُهْدِيَ لَهُ حِمَارُ وَحْشٍ وَهُوَ بِالْأَبْوَاءِ فَرَدَّهُ عَلَى صَاحِبِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «لَيْسَ بِنَا رَدٌّ عَلَيْكَ وَلَكِنَّا حُرُمٌ»

✧ A wild donkey was gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at al-Abwāʾ, and he returned it to its owner, then said: "It is not that we reject it against you, but we are in the state of iḥrām."
