حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ مَنْدَهِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ نا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا الْمُحَارِبِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي جَنَابٍ الْكَلْبِيِّ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ قَالَ غَدَوْتُ إِلَى صَفْوَانَ بْنِ عَسَّالٍ الْمُرَادِيِّ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنِ الْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فَقَالَ

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نمْسَحَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ فِي السَّفَرِ وَيَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ لِلْمُقِيمِ» وَسَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ غَدَا فِي طَلَبِ الْعِلْمِ وَضَعَتْ لَهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ أَجْنِحَتَهَا»

✧ “The Prophet ﷺ used to command us to wipe for three days and their nights while traveling, and for a day and a night for the resident.” And I heard the Prophet ﷺ say: “Whoever sets out early seeking knowledge, the angels lower their wings for him.”
