حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُكْرَمٍ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ كُرْدِيٍّ ح وحَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى شِيرَانُ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَا ثنا سَالِمُ بْنُ نُوحٍ عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ عَنْ صُهَيْبٍ قَالَ
صَنَعْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ طَعَامًا فَأَتَيْتُهُ وَهُوَ فِي نَفَرٍ جَالِسٌ فَقُمْتُ حِيَالَهُ فَأَوْمَأَتُ إِلَيْهِ فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيَّ «وَهَؤُلَاءِ؟» فَقُلْتُ لَا فَسَكَتُّ فَقُمْتُ مَكَانِيَ فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيَّ أَوْمَأْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «وَهَؤُلَاءِ؟» فَقُلْتُ لَا مَرَّتَيْنِ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ وَهَؤُلَاءِ وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ شَيْئًا يَسِيرًا صَنَعْتُهُ لَهُ فَجَاءَ وجَاءُوا مَعَهُ فَأَكَلُوا وَأَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ وَفَضَلَ مِنْهُ

✧ I prepared food for the Messenger of God ﷺ and came to him while he was sitting among a group of people. I stood facing him and gestured to him, and he gestured to me, 'And these?' I said, 'No.' So I remained silent and stood in my place. When he looked at me, I gestured to him, and he said, 'And these?' I said, 'No.' He did that twice or three times. Then I said, 'Yes, and these,' though it was only a little food I had prepared for him. He came, and they came with him, and they ate. I think he said, 'And some of it remained.'
