al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 719

✧ On the Day of Judgement, Allah has prepared punishment and anger for those who steal the wealth of a Muslim, or falsely swear on them with a false oath.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ أَخِيهِ خَالِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ لَمَّا مَاتَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

مُوَرِّقٌ الْعِجْلِيُّ «ذَهَبَ الْيَوْمَ نِصْفُ الْعِلْمِ» فَقِيلَ وَكَيْفَ ذَاكَ يَا أَبَا الْمُعْتَمِرِ؟ فَقَالَ كَانَ الرَّجُلُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَهْوَاءِ إِذَا خَالَفَنَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْنَا لَهُ تَعَالَ إِلَى مَنْ سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ

✧ Muwarriq al-Ijli said: "Today half of knowledge has gone." It was said: "And how is that, O Abu al-Mu'tamir?" He said: "When a man of the people of whims differed with us about a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we would say to him, 'Come to someone who heard it from him.'"
