حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَمُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَا ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ السَّمُرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ خُبَيْبِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَنَا إِنَّ أَحَدَكُمْ لَوْ كَانَ لَهُ وَادٍ مَلْآنُ مَا بَيْنَ أَعْلَاهُ إِلَى أَسْفَلِهِ أَحَبَّ أَنَّ يَمْتَلِئَ لَهُ وَادٍ آخَرُ قَالَ أَمَا وَاللهِ لَوِ اسْتَطَعْتُ لَأَمْلَأَنَّكَ وَإِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَا تَمْتَلِئُ نَفْسُهُ مِنَ الْمَالِ حَتَّى تَمْتَلِئَ مِنَ التُّرَابِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ used to say to us: “If one of you had a valley full [of gold] from its top to its bottom, he would love to have another valley filled for him.” He said: “Indeed, by Allah, if I could, I would fill it for you. A man's soul will never be filled with wealth until it is filled with dust.”
