حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَالْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَأَبُو خَلِيفَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَيَّانَ الْمَازِنِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا شَاذُّ بْنُ الْفَيَّاضِ ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ حَوَّاءَ كَانَ لَا يَعِيشُ لَهَا وَلَدٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا الشَّيْطَانُ سَمِّيهِ عَبْدَ الْحَارِثِ فَإِنَّهُ يَعِيشُ فَسَمَّوْهُ وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ مِنْ وَحْيِ الشَّيْطَانِ وَأَمْرِهِ فَحَمَلَتْ حَمْلًا خَفِيفًا لَمْ يَسْتَبِنْ فَمَرَّتْ بِهِ لَمَّا اسْتَبَانَ حَمْلُهَا

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Eve had no child that lived for her, so Satan said to her: 'Name him Abd al-Harith, for he will live.' So they named him that, and that was from Satan's inspiration and his command. Then she conceived a light pregnancy which was not apparent, and when her pregnancy became apparent she passed by him."
