حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الدِّمَشْقِيُّ وَعَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ قَالَا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكَّارِ بْنِ بِلَالٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ قَالَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَشَدُّ حَسَرَاتِ بَنِي آدَمَ عَلَى ثَلَاثٍ رَجُلٌ كَانَتْ عِنْدَهُ امْرَأَةٌ حَسْنَاءُ جَمِيلَةٌ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ غُلَامًا فَمَاتَتْ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يَسْتَرْضِعُ لِابْنِهِ وَرَجُلٍ كَانَ عَلَى فَرَسٍ فِي غَزْوَةٍ فَرَأَى الْغَنِيمَةَ فَسَابَقَ أَصْحَابَهُ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى إِذَا قَرُبَ مِنْهَا وَقَعَ الْفَرَسُ فَمَاتَ وَوَاقَعَ أَصْحَابُهُ الْغَنِيمَةَ فَاقْتَسَمُوهَا وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ لَهُ زَرْعٌ وَنَاضِحٌ فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَى زَرْعُهُ وَاسْتَحْصَدَ مَاتَ نَاضِحُهُ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُ مَا يَشْتَرِي بَعِيرًا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The greatest regrets of the children of Ādam are over three things: a man who had a beautiful, lovely wife who bore him a son, then she died and he had nothing with which to hire a wet-nurse for his son; a man who was on a horse in a military expedition and saw the spoils, so he raced his companions to them until, when he drew near, the horse fell and died, while his companions reached the spoils and divided them; and a man who had a crop and a watering camel, and when his crop ripened and was ready for harvest, his camel died and he had nothing with which to buy another camel."
