حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ رُفَيْعٍ قَالَ
سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ يَقُولُ كُنْتُ غُلَامًا صَبِيًّا فَأَذَّنْتُ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ قَالَ لِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَلْحِقْ فِيهَا الصَّلَاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ

✧ I heard Abu Mahdhura saying: I was a young boy, and I gave the call to prayer before the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Hunayn. When I reached 'Hasten to the prayer, hasten to success,' the Prophet ﷺ said to me: Add to it: Prayer is better than sleep.
