حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرُ الضَّبِّيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا وُهَيْبٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ خَيْثَمٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّائِبِ
أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُشَارِكُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَبْلَ الْإِسْلَامِ فِي التِّجَارَةِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْفَتْحِ أَتَاهُ فَقَالَ «مَرْحَبًا بِأَخِي وَشَرِيكِي لَا يُدَارِي وَلَا يُمَارِي يَا سَائِبُ قَدْ كُنْتَ تَعْمَلُ أَعْمَالًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا تُتَقَبَّلُ مِنْكَ وَهِيَ الْيَوْمَ تُتَقَبَّلُ مِنْكَ» وَكَانَ ذَا سَلَفٍ وَصِلَةٍ

✧ He used to be a partner of the Messenger of God ﷺ before Islam in trade. When the day of the conquest came, he came to him and he said, "Welcome to my brother and my partner. He does not contend nor dispute. O Sa'ib, you used to do deeds in the pre-Islamic times that were not accepted from you, and today they are accepted from you." He had a past and connections.
