حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُصَيْرٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الشَّاذَكُونِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ سَبْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
حَضَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَوْمًا يَقُولُ «مَنْ كَانَ هَهُنَا مِنْ مَعَدٍّ فَلْيَقُمْ» فَقَامَ عَمْرُو بْنُ مُرَّةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اجْلِسْ» حَتَّى فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «قُضَاعَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ حِمْيَرٍ»

✧ I attended the Prophet ﷺ one day when he said: “Whoever here is from Maʿadd, let him stand.” ʿAmr b. Murrah al-Juhani stood up, and the Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Sit down,” until he had done that three times. Then the Prophet ﷺ said: “Quḍāʿah is the son of Mālik b. Ḥimyar.”
