حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أنا مَالِكٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خُصَيْفَةَ أَنَّ السَّائِبَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ أَبِي زُهَيْرٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَزْدِ شَنُوءَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يُحَدِّثُ نَاسًا عِنْدَ بَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنِ اقْتَنَى كَلْبًا لَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ زَرْعًا وَلَا ضَرْعًا نَقُصَ مِنْ عَمَلِهِ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ قِيرَاطٌ» قَالَ أَنْتَ سَمِعْتَ هَذَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ إِي وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ

✧ Al-Qa‘nabi narrated to us from Malik. And Bakr b. Sahl narrated to us: ‘Abd Allah b. Yusuf narrated to us: Malik reported to us, from Yazid b. Khusayfa, that al-Sa’ib b. Yazid informed him that he heard Sufyan b. Abi Zuhayr, a man from Azd Shanu’a and one of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, narrating to people at the gate of the mosque, saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Whoever keeps a dog that does not benefit him in guarding crops or livestock, one qirat is deducted from his deeds every day.” He said: Did you hear this from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Kaaba.
