حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الصَّائِغُ الْمَكِّيُّ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي سَلِمَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ سُلَيْمٌ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّا نَظَلُّ فِي أَعْمَالِنَا فَنُمْسِي حِينَ نُمْسِي فَيَأْتِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ فَيُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ فَنَأْتِيهِ فَيُطَوِّلُ عَلَيْنَا؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا مُعَاذُ لَا تَكُونُ فَتَّانًا إِمَّا أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ مَعِي وَإِمَّا أَنْ تُخَفِّفَ عَنْ قَوْمِكَ»

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us: Sulayman b. Bilal narrated to us, from 'Amr b. Yahya, from Mu'adh b. Rifa'ah al-Zuraqi, that a man from Banu Salimah called Sulaym came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: O Messenger of Allah, we spend our days in our work, and when evening comes, Mu'adh b. Jabal comes and calls to prayer, and we go to him, and he lengthens it for us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O Mu'adh, do not be a troublemaker. Either pray with me, or lighten it for your people."
