حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو يَزِيدَ الْقَرَاطِيسِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ أنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ
جَاءَتْ سَهْلَةُ بِنْتُ سُهَيْلٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي لَأَرَى فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ مِنْ أَمْرِ سَالِمٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَرْضِعِيهِ» فَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ كَبِيرٌ فَتَبَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَوَ لَيْسَ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّهُ رَجُلٌ» ؟ ثُمَّ جَاءَتْ فَقَالَتْ وَالَّذِي أَكْرَمَكَ بِمَا أَكْرَمَكَ بِهِ مَا رَأَيْتُ فِي وَجْهِ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ شَيْئًا بَعْدُ

✧ Sahla bt. Suhayl came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of God, I see in Abu Hudhayfa's face something concerning Salim.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Suckle him.' She said, 'He is an adult.' The Messenger of God ﷺ smiled and said, 'Do I not know that he is a man?' Then she came and said, 'By the One who honored you with what He honored you, I have not seen anything in Abu Hudhayfa's face after that.'
