حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ وَأَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشَّيُّ قَالَا ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ دَاوُدَ بْنَ أَبِي هِنْدَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَمَّنَا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ كَانَتْ تَقْرِي الضَّيْفَ وَتَصِلُ الرَّحِمَ هَلْ يَنْفَعُهَا مِنْ عَمَلِهَا ذَلِكَ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «لَا» فَقُلْنَا إِنَّهَا وَأَدَتْ أُخْتًا لَنَا لَمْ تَبْلُغِ الْحِنْثَ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «الْمَوْءُودَةُ وَالْوَائِدَةُ فِي النَّارِ إِلَّا أَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْوَائِدَةُ الْإِسْلَامَ فَتُسْلِمَ»

✧ My brother and I came to the Messenger of God ﷺ and said: O Messenger of God, our mother in the pre-Islamic era used to honor the guest and maintain ties of kinship. Will any of that action benefit her? He said: “No.” We said: She buried alive a sister of ours who had not reached the age of sin. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: “The buried girl and the one who buried her are in the Fire, unless the one who buried her reaches Islam and submits.”
