حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْقَزَّازُ
ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا حَاتِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْلَةَ صَبِيحَةِ خَيْبَرَ «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ غَدًا لِرَجُلٍ يُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ يَفْتَحُ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ» فَإِذَا بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ فَأَعْطَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الرَّايَةَ فَفَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ

✧ Al-Qa'nabi narrated to us: Hatim b. Isma'il narrated to us, from Yazid b. Abi 'Ubayd, from Salamah b. al-Akwa': The Messenger of God ﷺ said on the night before the morning of Khaybar: "I will surely give the banner tomorrow to a man whom God and His Messenger love, and through whom God will grant victory." Then there was 'Ali b. Abi Talib ؓ, and the Messenger of God ﷺ gave him the banner, and God granted victory through him.
