✧ 'Uyaynah b. Hisn raided the milch-camels of the Messenger of God ﷺ and drove them away. Salamah b. al-Akwa' al-Aslami said: I went out with my bow and arrows, and I used to hunt game. Then when I was at Thaniyyat al-Wada', I looked and saw them driving the camels. So I ran onto the mountain at Sal' and then cried out, "O morning raid!" My cry reached the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the call went out among the people: "Alarm! Alarm!" I went out shooting at them and saying: "Take it! I am the son of al-Akwa'." It was not long before I saw the cavalry of the Messenger of God ﷺ threading through the trees. Eight horsemen caught up with them. The first to catch them was Abu Qatadah b. Rib'i. He stabbed a man from Banu Fazarah called Mas'adah, took off his own cloak and covered him with it, then went on in pursuit of the enemy with the horsemen. The Messenger of God ﷺ passed by while the people were alarmed, and they were saying: "Abu Qatadah is killed." The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "It is not Abu Qatadah; rather it is a man killed by Abu Qatadah. Leave him and his spoils." Then he said: "Press on in pursuit of the people." So they pressed on and recovered what they recovered of the milch-camels, while the enemy went off with what remained. Muhammad b. Talhah said: And in the hadith: "He named those who went out in pursuit of the milch-camels: 'Ukkashah b. Mihsan, al-Miqdad b. 'Amr—who is the one called Ibn al-Aswad, the ally of Banu Zuhrah—and Muhriz b. Nadlah al-Asadi, the ally of Banu 'Abd Shams. It is said no one of the enemy was killed except him. And of the Ansar: Sa'd b. Zayd al-Ash-hali, who was the commander of the group, 'Abbad b. Bishr al-Ash-hali, Zuhayr b. Rafi' al-Harithi, Abu Qatadah b. Rib'i al-Sulami, and Mu'adh b. Ma'is al-Zuraqi. Abu 'Ayyash al-Zuraqi was one of the five-man band."
