حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ شَبِيبٍ الْعَسَّالُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ ثنا أَبُو مَرْيَمَ عَبْدُ الْغَفَّارِ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ ثنا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ «تَرَكَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنًا؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ دِينَارَيْنِ قَالَ «صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ» فَقَالَ أَبُو قَتَادَةَ هُمَا عَلِيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِأُخْرَى فَقَالَ «عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ؟» قَالُوا لَا قَالَ «فَهَلْ تَرَكَ كَنْزًا؟» قَالُوا دِينَارَيْنِ قَالَ «كَيَّتَانِ» وَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ when a funeral of a man from the Ansar was brought. He said: “Did he leave behind a debt?” They said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, two dinars. He said: “Pray over your companion.” Abu Qatadah said: They are on me, O Messenger of Allah. Then he prayed over him. Then another funeral was brought. He said: “Does he have a debt?” They said: No. He said: “Did he leave behind any treasure?” They said: Two dinars. He said: “Two cauterizations.” And he prayed over him.
