حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَنْبَرٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
جَاءَ عَمِّي بِرَجُلٍ مِنْ عَجْلَانَ يَقُودُ بِهِ وَبِفَرَسِهِ فِي سَبْعِينَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى وَقَفَ بِهِمْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «دَعُوهُمْ» قَالَ فَعَقَلَ عَنْهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {وَهُوَ الَّذِي كَفَّ أَيْدِيَهُمْ عَنْكُمْ وَأَيْدِيَكُمْ عَنْهُمْ بِبَطْنِ مَكَّةَ مِنْ بَعْدِ أَنْ أَظْفَرَكُمْ عَلَيْهِمْ} الْآيَةَ
Translation

✧ My paternal uncle came with a man from ‘Ajlan, leading him and his horse, among seventy of the polytheists, until he stood them before the Messenger of God ﷺ. The Messenger of God ﷺ said, “Leave them.” He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ paid blood money on their behalf. Then God ﷻ revealed, {And He it is who restrained their hands from you and your hands from them in the valley of Makkah after He had given you victory over them} to the end of the verse.
