حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو حُذَيْفَةَ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ قَالَا ثنا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ثنا إِيَاسُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ «لَأُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّايَةَ الْيَوْمَ رَجُلًا يُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَيُحِبُّهُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ» قَالَ فَبَعَثَنِي إِلَى عَلِيٍّ وَهُوَ أَرْمَدُ فَجِئْتُ بِهِ أَقُودُهُ فَتَفَلَ فِي عَيْنَهِ فَبَرَأَ وَأَعْطَاهُ الرَّايَةَ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said on the day of Khaybar: 'I will certainly give the banner today to a man who loves God and His Messenger, and whom God and His Messenger love.' He said: Then he sent me to Ali while he was suffering from ophthalmia. I brought him, leading him. He spat into his eye and he was cured, and he gave him the banner.
