حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو خَلِيفَةَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ سَوْرَةَ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ قَالُوا ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ قَالَ
كُنْتُ مَعَ سَلْمَانَ فَرَأَى رَجُلًا قَدْ أَحْدَثَ وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنْزِعَ خُفَّيْهِ لِلْوُضُوءِ فَقَالَ سَلْمَانُ امْسَحْ عَلَيْهِمَا وَعَلَى عِمامَتِكَ وَقَالَ سَلْمَانُ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «يَمْسَحُ عَلَى خِمَارِهِ وَخُفَّيْهِ»

✧ I was with Salmān when he saw a man who had broken his ablution and wanted to remove his leather socks to perform ablution. Salmān said: “Wipe over them and over your turban.” And Salmān said: “I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ wiping over his head-covering and his leather socks.”
