حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّمَّارُ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ ثنا سَيْفُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْفِرَاءِ وَالسَّمْنِ وَالْجُبْنِ فَقَالَ «الْحَلَالُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَالْحَرَامُ مَا حَرَّمَ اللهُ فِي كِتَابِهِ وَمَا سَكَتَ عَنْهُ فَهُوَ مِمَّا عَفَا عَنْهُ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about [the meat of] wild asses, ghee, and cheese. He said, "The lawful is what Allah has made lawful in His Book, and the unlawful is what Allah has made unlawful in His Book. Whatever He has remained silent about is among that which He has pardoned."
