حَدَّثَنَا مَسْعَدَةُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْعَطَّارُ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيِّ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ خَطَّ الْخَنْدَقَ مِنْ أَحْمَرَ الْبَسْخَتَيْنِ طَرَفِ بَنِي حَارِثَةَ عَامَ حِزْبِ الْأَحْزَابِ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْمَذَابِحَ فَقَطَعَ لِكُلِّ عَشَرَةٍ أَرْبَعِينَ ذِرَاعًا فَاحْتَجَّ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَارُ فِي سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ رَحِمَهُ اللهُ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا قَوِيًّا فَقَالَ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ سَلْمَانُ مِنَّا وَقَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ سَلْمَانُ مِنَّا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «سَلْمَانُ مِنَّا أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ marked out the trench from Ahmar al-Baskhatayn, the edge of Banu Harithah, in the year of the confederates, until it reached al-Madhabih. He allotted forty cubits for every ten men. The Muhajirun and the Ansar disputed over Salman al-Farisi, may God have mercy on him, and he was a strong man. The Muhajirun said: Salman is from us. The Ansar said: Salman is from us. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'Salman is from us, the people of the house.'
