حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَزِيزٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ثنا سَلَامَةُ بْنُ رَوْحٍ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَخْبَرَنِي سَهْلُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مِدْرًى يُرَجِّلُ بِهِ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُنِي لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ فِي عَيْنِكَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ النَّظَرِ»

✧ A man looked through a hole in the door of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had an iron comb with which he was combing his hair. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "If I knew that you were looking at me, I would have stabbed you in the eye with it. Permission is only required because of looking."
