حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي الْأَسْوَدِ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ السَّمْتِيُّ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ الْعَسْكَرِيُّ ثنا خَالِدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ السَّمْتِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ جَدِّي قَالَ قَالَ

لِي سُهَيْلُ بْنُ صَخْرٍ وَكَانَتْ لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ «إِنِّي إِذَا مَلَكْتُ ثَمَنَ عَبْدٍ فَأَشْتَرِي بِهِ عَبْدًا فَإِنَّ الْجُدُودَ فِي نَوَاصِي الرِّجَالِ»

✧ Suhayl b. Sakhr, who had companionship, said to me: 'If I own the price of a slave and buy a slave with it, then fortunes are in the forelocks of men.'
