حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا مُصْعَبُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمَدَنِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ أَنَّهُ جَلَسَ إِلَى جَنْبِ إِيَاسِ بْنِ سَهْلٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ مِنْ بَنِي سَاعِدَةَ فِي مَسْجِدِهِمْ فَقَالَ

أَقْبِلْ عَلَى مَا قَبِلْتَ عَلَيْهِ يَا أَبَا حَازِمٍ أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ أَبِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَأَنْ أُصَلِّيَ الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ أَجْلِسَ فِي مَجْلِسٍ أَذْكُرُ اللهَ ﷻ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ شَدٍّ عَلَى جِيَادِ الْخَيْلِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ ﷻ»

✧ Turn to what you have turned to, O Abu Hazim. Shall I not tell you from my father, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: 'That I pray the morning prayer and then sit in a gathering remembering God ﷻ until the sun rises is dearer to me than racing fine horses in the path of God ﷻ.'
