✧ Son of al-Hanzhaliyyah al-Ansari from the tribe of Harithah, his mother's name is al-Hanzhaliyyah and his father's name is Afif. He used to reside in Damascus, Syria.

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا يَحْيَى عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ خَوَّاتٍ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ فِي صَلَاةِ الْخَوْفِ قَالَ

«يَقُومُ الْإِمَامُ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ وَتَقُومُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنْهُمْ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْعَدُوِّ وُجُوهُهُمْ إِلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَيُصَلِّي بِالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَيَرْكَعُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَيَسْجُدُونَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ فِي مَكَانِهِمْ ثُمَّ يَذْهَبُ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَقَامِ أُولَئِكَ فَيَجِيءُ أُولَئِكَ فَيَرْكَعُ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً فَهِيَ لَهُ اثْنَتَانِ وَلَهُمْ وَاحِدَةٌ ثُمَّ يَرْكَعُونَ لِأَنْفُسِهِمْ وَيَسْجُدُونَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ»

✧ The imam stands facing the qiblah, and a group of them stands facing the enemy, with their faces toward the enemy. He leads those with him in one rak'ah, then he stands and they perform one rak'ah for themselves and prostrate twice in their place. Then these go to the position of those, and those come, and he leads them in one rak'ah, so it is two for him and one for them. Then they perform a rak'ah for themselves and prostrate twice.
