✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said one day: 'O Abu Bakr, come; O 'Umar, come. I have been commanded to make you two brothers by revelation sent down upon me from heaven. You are two brothers in this world, two brothers in Paradise. Let each of you greet his companion and shake his hand.' Abu Bakr took 'Umar by the hand, and the Messenger of God ﷺ smiled and said, 'He will be before him; he will die before him.' Then he said: 'O Zubayr, O Talhah, come. I have been commanded to make you two brothers. You are two brothers in this world, two brothers in Paradise. Let each of you greet his companion.' They did so. Then he said: 'O 'Ali, come; O 'Ammar, come. I have been commanded to make you two brothers. You are two brothers in this world, two brothers in Paradise. Let each of you greet his companion.' They did so. Then he said to Ubayy b. Ka'b and Ibn Mas'ud the like of that, and they did so. Then he said to Abu al-Darda' and Salman the like of that, and they did so. Then he said to Sa'd b. Abi Waqqas and Suhayb the like of that, and they did so. Then to Abu Dharr and Bilal, the freedman of al-Mughirah b. Shu'bah, the like of that, and they did so. Then he said: 'O Usamah and O Abu Hind, come.' He was a cupper who used to cup the Prophet ﷺ and drink his blood. 'Come,' and he said to them the like of that. And to Abu Ayyub and 'Abdullah b. Salam the like of that, and they did so. Then he mentioned the rest of the hadith.
