حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّبَرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ حَرَامِ بْنِ مُحَيِّصَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

«أَنَّ نَاقَةً لِلْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ دَخَلَتْ حَائِطَ رَجُلٍ فَأَفْسَدَتْ فِيهِ فَقَضَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الْأَمْوَالِ حِفْظَهَا بِالنَّهَارِ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ الْمَوَاشِي حِفْظَهَا بِاللَّيْلِ»

✧ “A she-camel belonging to al-Barāʾ b. ʿĀzib entered a man’s walled garden and caused damage in it, so the Messenger of God ﷺ ruled that the owners of property are responsible for guarding it by day, and the owners of livestock are responsible for guarding them by night.”
