حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الْعَيْشِيُّ ثنا سُوَيْدٌ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عَلَى بَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَتَذَاكَرُ يَنْزِعُ هَذَا بِآيَةٍ ويَنْزِعُ هَذَا بِآيَةٍ فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَأَنَّمَا تَفَقَّأَ فِي وَجْهِهِ حَبُّ الرُّمَّانِ فَقَالَ «يَا هَؤُلَاءِ أَبِهَذَا بُعِثْتُمْ؟ أَمْ بِهَذَا أُمِرْتُمْ؟ لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ»

✧ We were sitting at the door of the Messenger of God ﷺ, reminding one another, one citing a verse and another citing a verse, when the Messenger of God ﷺ came out to us, his face looking as if pomegranate seeds had burst upon it. He said, "O you people, is it with this that you were sent? Or is it this that you were commanded? Do not revert after me to being disbelievers, striking one another's necks."
