حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ الْحَلَبِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ ؓ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا أَبَا الْمُنْذِرِ إِنِّي أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أَعْرِضَ عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ» فَقَالَ بِاللهِ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَى يَدِكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَمِنْكَ تَعَلَّمْتُ قَالَ فَرَدَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْقَوْلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ وَذُكِرْتُ هُنَاكَ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ بِاسْمِكَ وَنَسَبِكَ فِي الْمَلَأِ الْأَعْلَى» قَالَ فَاقْرَأْ إِذًا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “O Abu al-Mundhir, I have been commanded to present the Quran to you.” Ubayy said, “In Allah I have believed, at your hand I have submitted, and from you I have learned.” He said, so the Prophet ﷺ repeated the statement, “O Messenger of Allah, and I was mentioned there?” He said, “Yes, by your name and lineage in the highest assembly.” He said, “Then recite, O Messenger of Allah.”
