al-Mu'jam al-Kabir (al-Tabarani) 5378

✧ Saad b. Ubadah al-Ansari, then al-Khazraji, a follower from Badr and Uhud, a captain, known as Abu Thabit, he stayed in Sham and passed away there.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ثنا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ مَاتَتْ وَهُوَ غَائِبٌ فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ قَالَ

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أُحِبُّ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى أُمِّي فَأَتَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَبْرَهَا «فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ أَتَى لَهَا شَهْرٌ»

✧ "O Messenger of God, I would like you to pray over my mother." The Prophet ﷺ came to her grave, "and prayed over her, though a month had already passed since her death."
