حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ الْأَخْرَمُ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ثنا الضَّحَّاكُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سُئِلَ عَنِ اللُّقَطَةِ؟ فَقَالَ «عَرِّفْهَا سَنَةً فَإِنِ اعْتُرِفَتْ فَأَدِّهَا وَإِلَّا فَاعْرِفْ عِفَاصَهَا وَعَدَدَهَا فَإِنْ جَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا فَأَدِّهَا»
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about a found item. He said, "Announce it for a year. If it is recognized, hand it over; otherwise, note its container and its number. If its owner comes, hand it over to him."
