حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فَضَاءٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْجُوبَارِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ طُعْمَةَ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ
قَسَّمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ غَنَمًا لِلضَّحَايَا فَأَعْطَانِي عَتُودًا جَذَعًا فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهُ جَذَعٌ فَقَالَ «ضَحِّ بِهِ» فَضَحَّيْتُ بِهِ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ distributed sheep among his companions for sacrifices and gave me a jadha‘ young goat. I went back to him and said: “O Messenger of God, it is a jadha‘.” He said: “Sacrifice it.” So I sacrificed it.
